A woman who beat her teenage sister-in-law to death in the family home following a “regime of terror” has been jailed for life.

Salma Begum, 32, denied murdering Shahena Uddin, but was convicted at St Albans Crown Court. She must serve a minimum of 18 years.

Shahena’s eldest brother, Suhail Uddin, was cleared of murder, but along with three other brothers and a sister was found guilty of causing or allowing Shahena’s death.
